The first step in securing your commercial drivers license is to pass the CDL General Knowledge test at your local State Motor Vehicles department.

You will be required to show a valid drivers license in the state you are testing, proof of residence and age.  Normally, you must be 18 years old for intrastate driving and 21 years of age for interstate driving - and you will eventually have to pass a DOT physical examination - some states require this documentation before you test, but most states will allow you to take the CDL General Knowledge and other endorsement tests without taking the physical exam first.  Just be aware that you will have to present the certificate before your final CDL License is issued.

To pass the CDL General Knowledge Test, you must score at least 80%.  The test is no cakewalk as over 500,000 people failed this test last year alone.  The way to ensure that you pass is to be prepared BEFORE you go to the State Motor Vehicles Department.

You should prepare for the exam by studying your state issued CDL drivers manual and by taking the short free CDL Test on our home page.  These sample and  FREE CDL Test Questions and Answers were written in flash and include the normal traditional quizzes that we all have seen before in a classroom setting.  Additionally, and more importantly, we have assembled the CDL Test Questions and Answers into several unique and innovative testing activities.  These include Flash Cards, Fill in the Blanks, Fact Cards, Crossword Puzzles, Matching and Pick a Letter (similar to Hangman) - these were designed with one thing in mind - to help you remember the specific CDL Test Questions and Answers that you will find on your CDL Test.

These fun and memorable activities will help you remember the important material that you will be tested on your CDL Test and ensure that you pass your CDL Test the first time.

After paying a one time fee for full membership rights, you will gain access to our large database of CDL Test Questions and Answers.  This is not a monthly subscription fee that renews every month (unlike some of our competitors), but rather a one-time fee.  Another important thing to be aware of is that once you become a member of TestAnswers.com, your membership is valid for life.  Most people will sign up and take the General Knowledge and Air Brakes test and start their new career that way.  Eventually, many new truck drivers decide that they can make more money by hauling doubles or Hazardous Materials and then come back to our site and study for their next endorsement.  We won't charge you another fee - once a member, always a member.  Just try and find that sort of deal from any other CDL Testing Site.  We know that they don't exist - we are the only ones who believe in this philosophy..  Spend a few hours with our program and you will be ready to pass your test – the first time.  As a matter of fact, we guarantee that after using our system, you will pass your CDL Written Test the first time around.   And that is the goal, is it not?

Anyone can read a book full of materials, but the trick is to absorb and remember the material presented.  You will see many of the very same CDL Test Questions and Answers presented in our program worded exactly the same as you will find on your actual exam, essentially ensuring that you will pass your test.
